The Primary International Day was certainly a great success with a fantastic atmosphere around school from start to finish. The International Assembly was very well supported by parents and there were some great musical items from many different instrumental and year groups. With everyone dressed in their national costume or clothes representing their country in really made for a very colourful start to an exciting day. The food hall both in Early Years and in the main sports hall were both superb and I would like to thank all our parents and especially the PTG for organizing this wonderful celebration of tastes from around the world. Everyone really enjoyed this experience.

I look forward to this coming Friday when we shall be holding the High School International Day.

Celebration of the Life of Mr. Simon Lawrence
Last Thursday there was a huge turnout from our school community, the greater community of Bangkok and South East Asia, along with several of Simon’s closest friends coming into town to meet with everyone. Although it is a sad affair saying farewell to someone so well known and respected, it was suitably fitting that so many had come out to remember him. There were speeches from ex-Patana students and from our own alumni, Ashim and Pree, who shared their fond recollections about Simon and the positive effects he had on their lives and learning. This evening was a really for all of his friends, many of whom had not seen each other for a long time, to be able talk and laugh together in Simon’s memory.

Thank you to everyone who attended and made this such a special evening.

Nord Anglia Education U11 Games
It’s only 4 weeks away until St Andrews hosts the annual Nord Anglia Education U11 South East Asia Games. The Primary PE team are busy organising this exciting tournament for our U11 children.

The NAE Games will begin on Friday 1st December, with completing teams staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton. That evening, the children will have a welcome dinner before the events start on Saturday 2nd December and continue until Sunday 3rd December, with a concluding Gala dinner that evening. The two-day tournament involves basketball and teeball. The basketball venue will be over at our High School in the new Sports Hall, while the tee-ball will be held at Ramkhamhaeng University.

There are four other Nord Anglia schools coming to Bangkok to take part in the NAE Games: Regents Pattaya, British International School, Ho Chi Minh City, British Vietnamese International School, Hanoi and Northbridge International School, Cambodia.

The PE teams are very much looking forward to the NAE Games and we look forward to extending our welcome to our neighbouring sister schools.
