Sharp 55 Roku TV Screen Mirroring Direct HDMI

Hello Everyone,

I recently bought a 55″ Sharp 4K UHD Smart TV with a Roku TV operating system. My intention with this TV was to mirror from my PC to my TV so I can stream on the PC and watch sports on the big screen. After a long back and forth, trying a few apps that Roku had for screen mirroring etc. I finally was able to connect to it after switching my system preferences to “Always Allow” instead of “Prompt”. The TV wouldn’t show up as an option to connect to on my PC until I switched it to “Always Allow”.

Finally I connected and my desktop home screen came up on the big screen. I proceeded to pull up a stream on my PC only to go back into my TV room to hear the sound playing but the screen still just showing my desktop like it was frozen. Confused, I disconnected from my PC and tried to reconnect again but the Sharp Roku TV has yet to show up again as a mirroring option even after multiple resets and over 24hrs of time. This is very confusing.

So I figured I would just use an HDMI to my laptop and project onto the TV that way. I wanted to avoid having a laptop in the living room hooked up to the TV but so be it. And again I connected it to HDMI, my desktop showed up on the screen and nothing else. I pulled up a different stream and nothing showed up on the TV, only the sound. I tried all 3 HDMI ports and 2 different HDMI cords to no avail.

I know it’s not a problem with my internet either because my modem is literally right next to the TV.

I’ve never seen this before, I’ve used this HDMI output to display my laptop on multiple TV’s in the past and never had any issues. Does Roku not have this ability? I’ve done everything I can think of to try to get this to work and still nothing.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
