StudioRendered Still Image Vrs Animation Render R11

Gary,

I’ve used the DivX codec with success. – the codec comes with
some additional items on download. You don’t have to install them. Another
common one is the techsmith codec from several use that.
Both make pretty small animations in comparison to Full and MS Video 1.

I’d need to see images to try to discern what you are getting and possibly
why. What release, SP are you on?

Thanks,

Josh,

I used the Microsoft Video1 & also tried the Full Uncompressed codec to
create the AVI. The uncompressed codec obviously created the best quality
but the lighting was still substantially different than the Render Image,
same with the MS Video 1 codec.

Thing is that the render Image does not use or has no provision for Codec
so, what difference would it make no matter what codec I used.

It’s not the bitmappyness I’m concerned about (which is affected by the
codec) but the actual rendered lighting highlights, colors. As stated, its
substantially different as if I had 2 completely different lighting styles
being used between the Render Image & Render Animation.

BTW-Any recommendations on codecs to use would be appreciated. Hardly any of
those stock codecs that come up in the box work at all. Codecs, whicj to use
& how to use are a pretty gray area & unfortunately there is no help in IV
on that.
