Those Who Support Ukraine Stand On The Side Of Justice Polish President

Andrzej Duda made the statement at a policy conference in the southern Polish ski resort of Krynica on Thursday, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

The three-day event, entitled Krynica Forum 2022: Growth and Reconstruction, has brought together policymakers, business executives, academics and media leaders to explore key issues for the development of Poland and Europe, including new challenges posed by Russia’s continuing war on Ukraine, the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic and an economic slowdown in the European Union, organisers said.

Poles ‘opened their hearts, homes and wallets’ to Ukrainian refugees

In his speech to the Krynica Forum 2022, which was focused on the war in Ukraine, the Polish president thanked his compatriots for providing “unbelievable” support to their Ukrainian neighbours.

Duda expressed his gratitude to “everyone who opened their hearts, homes and wallets to the plight of the people of Ukraine” and “simply shared their resources, in a human way, in a neighbourly way, in a Christian way.”

The president added that Ukraine was standing up to Russian aggression “thanks to the heroism of the Ukrainian people, who are fighting to defend their homeland,” but also “thanks to our financial, material contribution, thanks to the assistance that we are sending to Ukraine.”

‘We must concentrate all our forces to stop the invasion of Ukraine’

Duda told the conference: “Everyone who is supporting Ukraine and Ukrainians today is standing on the side of justice.”

The Polish president urged: “There is no doubt that we must concentrate all our forces to stop the invasion of Ukraine.”

He added: “This thinking is shared by many neighbouring countries. Whenever we stood together, we always managed to stop Moscow.”

Duda said that the Polish-led Three Seas Initiative of European countries between the Black, Baltic and Adriatic Seas “has turned out to be a boon in the face of the effects of Russian aggression.”

The Three Seas Initiative brings together Poland, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary.

It seeks to deepen political, economic, energy and infrastructure ties between its members.

The initiative was launched in 2015 by Poland’s Duda and the Croatian president at the time, Kolinda Grabar–Kitarović.

In June, Ukraine was declared an official partner of the Three Seas club.

Thursday was day 239 of the Russian invasionof Ukraine.
