Xiaomi Announced 100W Wireless Charging Stand With Qi Charging

Xiaomi may be one of the most important names in the smartphone market. However, the company has a wide array of products under different categories. The brand is also continuously developing new technologies, especially in the fast-charging department. Today a new Xiaomi 100W Wireless Charging Stand is coming for the company’s flagships as well as for devices with Qi wireless charging.

For those who are familiar with the company’s 80W wireless charging stand, there isn’t a big difference in terms of design. The previous wireless charging was aimed at users buying Xiaomi’s flagship smartphones. However, there is no smartphone in the company’s portfolio that can charge at 80W wireless charging, and therefore, no current smartphone will get the max charging of the newer 100W wireless charging. The company’s Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra support 67W wireless charging, while the Mi MIX 4 can charge at 50W wireless charging. The next year’s flagship may benefit from these wireless charging technologies though. The new Xiaomi 100W wireless charging stand is available only in China right now. It costs 599 Yuan which is roughly $92.

100W wireless charging also comes with Qi Wireless charging support
The new 100W wireless charger offers more flexibility when compared to other chargers. The reason is this one allows devices to be placed horizontally and vertically. The 100W variant – model number MDY-13-EL – comes in a Black and Gold colorway. The 80W version comes in White and Silver colors.

There is no big difference between the two, except for the obvious charging capacity. The 100W charger features a dual-coil design, just like its predecessor. It also packs a fan that is meant to cool the device down when needed. It supports Qi wireless charging technology, meaning it will work for almost every smartphone that supports wireless charging today. The wireless charging also comes with a protective layer that calibrates the current. Moreover, it works to retain the over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature protection. The charger can also detect foreign objects just like its predecessor.

As aforementioned, the first devices to benefit from this wireless charger are the company’s current flagships. The Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Pro and Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 will all benefit from the charging stand. However, none of them will charge at the maximum 100W speed. For this task, Xiaomi is yet to present a smartphone that can reach such speed. Other devices with Qi wireless charging support will also be eligible for this stand
