19 Celebrities Who Support Amber Heard

World-famous celebrities Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s bitter court battle had everyone talking on social media, in the news, and at the water cooler. Depp sued Heard for defamation over a 2018 op-ed she wrote in The Washington Post after their nasty divorce. Heard countersued and stood by her claims of domestic abuse. The trial ended with the jury awarding Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive damages from Heard. However, the jury awarded Heard $2 million in compensatory damages for defamation from Depp’s side.

The infamous trial divided fans, commentators, and celebrities around the world. A few stars tried to stay neutral and support both. Depp has a long list of celebrity supporters, including Joe Rogan, Jennifer Aniston, Lindsay Lohan, Javier Bardem, Naomi Campbell, Ashley Benson, and more. However, not everyone jumped on the Depp train. Indeed, many celebrities who support Amber Heard were very vocal.

Heard’s celebrity list might not be as long, but it’s still impressive. Many stars felt empathic and chose to believe her over Depp. At the same time, Heard had many close friends that had her back throughout the trial.

In 2017, Amber Heard dated Tesla tycoon Elon Musk after the end of her marriage to Johnny Depp. The relationship lasted about a year, but Musk and Heard remain on good terms. At one point, Musk even offered to provide Heard with security after she mentioned getting a restraining order against Depp.

Musk supported Heard throughout the trial. However, once the trial was over, Musk remained neutral publicly. He praised them both and hoped they move on with their lives.

Technically, Howard Stern didn’t say anything in support of Amber Heard. However, he’s vehemently against Johnny Depp and openly criticized the famous actor. The Shock jock called Depp a narcissist and mocked him.

He felt Depp wanted the trial on TV because he’d be able to sway public opinion with his charm. Stern believes televising the trial will eventually hurt Depp and Heard.

In her testimony, Barkin alleged Depp would verbally abuse her and become insanely jealous. She recounted him once throwing a wine bottle across the room in a fit of rage. Depp denies her allegations.

Many comedians made jokes about Amber Heard, including Chris Rock and Bill Burr. However, Kathy Griffin took the opposite approach and often made fun of Johnny Depp. Indeed, Griffin took Heard’s side in a similar defamation trial in the UK in 2020.

Griffin believes Heard’s version of events and took to social media to mock Depp. She continued to openly and proudly support Heard throughout the 2022 trial. Griffen even called out the anti-Amber campaign and mocked the ensuing threats from Depp’s fans.

After the trial, comedian Amy Schumer appeared to support Amber Heard in an Instagram post, although she didn’t mention Heard by name. Instead, she simply posted a quote from feminist activist Gloria Steinem.

The quote states, “Any woman who chooses to behave like a full human being should be warned that the armies of the status quo will treat her as something of a dirty joke. She will need her sisterhood.” Later, Schumer deleted the post.

Despite trying to stay neutral, it came out in the trial that Momoa actually saved Heard’s job on Aquaman 2. Warner Bros. wanted to fire Heard, but Momoa fought hard to keep Heard in the role.
