How Much Child Support Does Britney Spears Pay Kevin Federline

Britney Spears has two kids with her former husband, Kevin Federline. Recently, Spears revealed tragic news to her fans on social media, breaking the hearts of many. Here is everything we know about the pair and how they co-parent.

It has mostly been a great year for Britney Spears, who received the freedom to handle her affairs by herself after breaking away from the conservatorship that had dictated how she lived for years.

These days, the talented singer has been out and about with her fiancé, Sam Asghari. She had issues with her former husband, Kevin Federline, who receives a fortune in child support.

DID BRITNEY SPEARS MISCARRY?

In April 2022, Britney Spears revealed that she was expecting a baby. However, a month later, in May, Spears revealed that she had lost the baby.

She shared an Instagram post that contained a message from herself and Sam Asghari, which revealed that they lost their “miracle baby early in pregnancy.”

The statement also saw the couple wondering if they should have waited longer to make the news public and affirming that they were not giving up. It would have been Sam Asghari’s first child, but Spears already has two children with her ex-husband — who is he? And why did they split?

WHO IS KEVIN FEDERLINE?

Kevin Federline is the man who made Britney a mother for the first time. The pair met in 2004 and got married that same year after a whirlwind romance.

They went on to have two kids together; their first was named Sean Preston, and he was born in September 2005, while the second child they welcomed together was named Jayden James, and he arrived in 2006.

Things seemed to be going well between the two for some time, but at some point, Spears started having some problems with her mental health, which led to her relationship with Federline fizzling out.

That same year, in 2006, they began divorce proceedings, and by July 2007, it was finalized. After that, things turned bitter between them, with Spears requesting full legal and physical custody of her kids while Federline received visitation rights.

However, he was awarded sole custody after Spears had a public meltdown while she got visitation rights. As time passed, they could work through it and are now on good terms.

Meanwhile, Spears continued to pay him huge sums in child support, which was $20,000, until Federline requested an increase to $40,000 in February 2018.

At the time, a source close to her revealed that she was mad at him because she already “pays for everything.”

It dragged on for months, with Federline nearly succeeding in keeping Spears away from her kids. When they finally reached an agreement, it was for her to pay roughly $35,000.

Thankfully, it all wasn’t for nothing because after it was increased, Federline went back to singing her praises and supporting her when she needed it. Still, the former couple is known to clash now and then.

For instance, in April, Spears stated that Federline wouldn’t see her when she visited him at work while she was pregnant, which made Federline react aggressively. His lawyer even made a bold threat, claiming that what she said was a lie. In his words:

> “She should be very careful about pursuing a dialogue that’s based on revisionist history.”

In simpler terms, Federline refused to let people accept what Spears said as fact and was prepared to fight her for the “erroneous” account.
