A man has been charged with the murder of a celebrity boxing trainer who was stabbed on a bridge.

Reece Newcombe, 31, died after being attacked with a piece of broken glass in the early hours of Saturday.

The new dad was looking ahead to his first Christmas with his baby daughter when he was attacked on Richmond Bridge in south west London.

More than £100,000 has been raised to support his grieving family in the aftermath.

The popular coach helped ex-footballer Ian Wright train for a boxing fight and was described as not having a ‘bad bone in his body’.

Paramedics battled to save Mr Newcombe, who was from Egham, but he died later that morning in hospital.

Ross Hamilton, of Wood Lane, Isleworth, west London, will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday accused of killing him.

He is also charged with common assault.

The Metropolitan Police said a second man aged 28 was arrested on suspicion of murder and released on bail until early January.
