PM Modi Reiterates Commitment To Unwavering Support For Palestine Says

On the day of international solidarity for the people of Palestine, PM Modi said at the annual event organized by the United Nations – On this day of solidarity with the Palestinian people, I reiterate India’s unwavering support to the Palestinian cause. Prime Minister Modi said, “The friendly people of India and Palestine share historical ties.

We have always supported the people of Palestine in their quest for social and economic development with self-reliance and dignity.

We hope that the Palestinian and Israeli sides will hold direct talks and find a comprehensive and mutually acceptable solution.

Indo-Palestine relations are almost half a century old.

After 14 years, India is one of the few countries which recognizes Palestine as a country.

Political relations with Palestine increased in 1996 when India opened its representative office in Gaza.

Later it was shifted to Ramalla in 2003.
