The Best Phones With Wireless Charging Available

Robert Triggs / Android Authority

Phones with wireless charging make life easier. They save you from worrying about cables — just drop your phone on a pad and watch everything light up. Not to mention charging ports suffer from wear and tear the more you plug and unplug a phone. If you want to bid your charging cable farewell, here are the best phones with wireless charging capabilities.

Wireless charging is mainly available on high-end phones with glass or plastic backs — metal and wireless charging typically don’t mix. Not every flagship has the technology, but it’s becoming much more available. Phones with the feature either support the PMA or Qi standard, although Qi is the more popular choice.

Samsung Galaxy S22 series
Eric Zeman / Android Authority

The Samsung Galaxy S22 series is all the hype, and it’s easily going to be among the most popular line-ups of the year. All three devices — the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra — feature wireless charging and double up as power banks for your wireless accessories, thanks to reverse wireless charging. This is just the tip of the iceberg, though! Samsung has gone all out and equipped its latest flagship series with many powerful specs and features.

As expected, the group’s standout is the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which is also one of the very best handsets available in the market. It boasts 8/12GB of RAM, up to 1TB storage, and a massive 5,000mAh battery. All three S22 phones also sport ultra-sonic in-display fingerprint sensors and either the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200 processor.

We can’t forget the impressive camera capabilities of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, either. It features a quad camera with a 108MP primary sensor, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP telephoto (3x), and a 10MP periscope telephoto (10x). It’s hard to ask for more. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is not only one of the best phones with wireless charging, but it’s also one of the best Android phones on the market.

Of course, the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus aren’t bad phones by any means. They keep 8GB of RAM, 128/256GB of storage, and slightly smaller screens that still have an AMOLED panel and 120Hz refresh rates. They skip the periscope telephoto camera, but the rest of the system is still impressive.

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro
Robert Triggs / Android Authority

No best list of Android devices is complete without Google’s flagships. The search giant hit it out of the park with the new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. These devices look great, feel even better, are amazingly built, and have enough performance to compete against the best out there.

Of course, both devices are among the best phones with wireless charging. Not only that, but both support fast wireless charging. The Pixel 6 has 21W wireless charging, while the Pro version takes things up a notch with 23W. Additionally, you get reverse wireless charging, which means you can charge other devices with your phone.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4
Ryan Haines / Android Authority

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 isn’t only one of the best phones with wireless charging; it’s also one of the coolest ones! You can’t deny that the design alone makes you want to own it. The flip phone is back, with a flexible display and much more potent than ever.

You’ll find the device plenty capable, bringing specs like a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and 8GB of RAM. The 6.7-inch AMOLED display is gorgeous, and it comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Despite the design having so many moving parts, Samsung managed to keep IPX8 certification, making it water-resistant.

Of course, we can’t ignore the almighty Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, either. The device is one of the most expensive mainstream handsets we’ve seen in a long time, but it’s also among the most innovative and powerful. Instead of folding in like the Z Flip 4, it folds out into a tablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 made no sacrifices in terms of specs. It comes with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, 12GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage. The 7.6-inch inner display comes with a 2.176 x 1,812 resolution, as well as an AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The outer screen is much smaller at 6.2 inches, but it still features an excellent AMOLED panel and 120Hz refresh rates. You’ll also get a 4,400mAh battery and a triple-camera setup.

As for their wireless charging technology, it’s not as fast as some of the other phones here, but you can still charge at 15W without plugging in physically.

The Find X3 Pro offered a great design, and the newer Oppo Find X5 Pro takes a functional equation and improves upon it. It looks gorgeous, featuring a ceramic back that’s said to be twice stronger than glass. While there’s a camera bump, it blends in better than in most other handsets.

Specs are nothing to scoff at, offering a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 8-12GB of RAM, and a 5,000mAh battery. It also sports a gorgeous 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s IP68-rated, and the triple-camera setup is outstanding.

Our thoughts: Oppo Find X5 Pro review

One of the most interesting highlights is in the battery department. Not necessarily in terms of battery size (which is excellent, too), but charging speeds are impressive. This phone supports 80W wired charging and a staggering 50W wireless charging speed.

* Display: 6.7-inch, QHD+
* SoC: Snapdragon 8 Gen 1
* RAM: 8/12GB
* Storage: 256/512GB

* Cameras: 50, 50, and 13MP
* Front camera: 32MP
* Battery: 5,000mAh

OnePlus wasn’t big on wireless charging, but the latest devices have gotten much better when juicing up without cables. The OnePlus 10 Pro is impressive in this department, offering 50W wireless charging with its official dock. This means it can take your phone from zero to over 50% in just 15 minutes!

The device is no lackluster in every other department, either. It touts a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, 8-12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. The display is large at 6.7 inches, and the QHD+ LTPO2 Fluid AMOLED has a 120Hz refresh rate. The battery is pretty large at 5,000mAh. Around the back, the camera system features three shooters and Hasselblad color theory calibration.

Nothing is perfect, though, and the OnePlus 10 Pro has its downsides. The most important one is that it comes with no IP certification. Of course, you can read all about the phone in our OnePlus 10 Pro review.

You get a large 4K display with a 120Hz refresh rate, one of the fastest chipset currently available, a headphone jack, and even a microSD card slot. The battery comes in at 5,000mAh and supports 30W charging, getting it up to 50% in 30 minutes, according to Sony. It’s a great phone for creators, offering super camera autofocus, stellar video capture, and a few unique content creator apps. The speakers are great as well.

Sony’s flagship also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, wireless charging at 15W, and a 21:9 aspect ratio that makes it quite tall and slim. The biggest drawback of the device is its price, which comes in at $1,600.

This is Vivo’s flagship phone and has plenty to offer. It packs a 4,700mAh battery with 50W wireless charging that gets the phone from zero to 100% in less than an hour. The handset also supports reverse wireless charging and 80W wired sharing that gets the cell to full in 37 minutes according to our testing.

There’s more to this phone than its battery and wireless charging. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, sports a very capable main camera, and probably has the best in-display fingerprint scanner on the market.

Its biggest problem, however, is that the phone is only available in markets like India and China, but it will be coming to Europe soon.
