Vivo S1 Y15 Y19 Users Report Gyroscope Shaking Issue After Android 11

The Vivo S1, Y15, and Y19 have plenty in common. For starters, they were all launched in 2019. Secondly, they have a pretty similar overall design with 3 rear cameras and a waterdrop notch that houses the front shooter.

Not only that, but they all also come with Mediatek P series processors. The Vivo S1 and Vivo Y19 are both powered by the Helio P65 while the Vivo Y15 comes with the Helio P22 processor.

The commonalities don’t just end there though. As clear from the above, there has been a slew of complaints regarding a gyroscope shaking issue on the Vivo S1, Y15, and Y19.

Device owners state that the gyroscope keeps shaking on games like PUBG on its own resulting in an extremely unsteady aim. On top of that, many have also observed severe lags and delays when performing gyro gestures.

The problems reportedly all begun following the Android 11 update and were non-existent prior to the update.

FYI, gyroscopes are an advanced version of accelerometers. While the latter is used to detect the orientation of the phone, gyro adds an additional dimension to the information supplied by the accelerometer by tracking rotation.

Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any official acknowledgment to date so an ETA for a fix isn’t available. However, trying to contact Vivo on Twitter results in the following response:

> Hi, apologies for the inconvenience caused to you. We would request you to please share your concern through DM, so that we may help you accordingly.

Hence, facers of the issue are requested to keep tweeting about the gyroscope sensor shaking issue on Vivo S1, Y15, and Y19 until Vivo actually does something about it.
