IOS 15 Check If Your IPhone Is Getting The Upgrade

As part of WWDC 2021, Apple provided some early details on what to expect with iOS 15, including which devices are scheduled to get the upgrade. Generally speaking, Apple is pretty good with updating older phones with the latest major software version and this can help to improve security, as well as adding any new features available with the latest version of iOS.

Each year, Apple releases the latest version of iOS and 2021 won’t be any different with the arrival of iOS 15. The company has yet to confirm exactly when iOS 15 will be available to download and install, but these major iPhone upgrades do tend to arrive in the second half of the year. As is to be expected, Apple’s next mobile operating system will improve multiple aspects of the iPhone experience, with health, privacy and accessibility updates.

No Major iPhone Support Change From iOS 14
In reality, the list is pretty identical to the list of iOS 14 supported devices. Therefore, any iPhone user that was eligible for an upgrade to iOS 14 should largely expect to also be eligible for the upgrade to iOS 15 as well. The only difference in the list is the inclusion of the iPhone 12 series. However, this is more of a technicality. The iPhone 12 series launched with iOS 14 and wasn’t upgraded to the latest version like the other iPhone models. The same is expected to be the case this year with the iPhone 13 due to arrive running on iOS 15 at launch.

While the upgrade is still some time away from arriving on devices, the announcements Apple has made so far suggest it will be an update worth waiting for. On iPhone, some of the notable upgrades include improvements to FaceTime, message notifications, and Google Lens-like text recognition support. As iOS 15 gets closer to its release date, more details on these features and everything else Apple has in store for the iPhone will come to light.
