No Internet Secured How To Fix The WiFi Error

Did you connect your PC to a Wi-Fi network, only to encounter the “no internet, secured” error that popped up on the system tray?. Well, don’t worry, we have got you covered in this post.

Although the “no internet, secured” error message is common on all Windows OS versions, not just Windows 10, it is an error message that many Windows users have witnessed. The first thing that comes to mind is finding a lasting solution and fixing the error.

This error message indicates that the internet is down but most times it comes up when there is an active connection. The good news is that the error can be fixed, without any specific technical knowledge.

We have put together 15 detailed fixes that can help resolve the error. However, we will first look at the factors that can cause this error.

What Causes The Error?
This error can be caused by several reasons, but the most common causes include:

1. Changes in System Configurations
If you previously made some changes in your system’s configuration like changing your IP address configuration settings, it is likely that the router becomes confused when you try connecting to the internet, and then the error message comes up.

When you carry out updates of your Windows Operating System; they install patches that modify the system files which over time affects the system drivers, thereby allowing this error to occur. This can also cause changes in the configuration of the system.

Fixes
There are lots of ways to fix this error depending on what the cause is, your network adapter, and the computer’s setup. However, if you don’t know what caused the error, you can try the fixes below and see which one would work for you.

1. Restart the Computer

Restarting your computer could do the trick. When a computer is restarted, the cache and other temporary files are removed. If the error is caused by any of these files or a driver that didn’t properly load, it will be resolved after the restart.

2. Troubleshoot the Windows
Using a troubleshooter can help solve different PC problems including a “no internet, secured” error. Windows 10 has several built-in troubleshooting tools that can help to check errors and fix them.

Run the Windows 10 network troubleshooter, answer the questions and it might correct the error.

To run the troubleshooter, do this:

* Press and hold the Windows key + I on your keyboard and the Settings will come up.
* Click on Update and Security and then select Troubleshoot.

* When the Recommended Troubleshooting comes up select Additional Troubleshooter and under the “Get up and running” section, select the Internet Connections and click on Run the Troubleshooter.

* Next, select the Troubleshoot my connection to the internet option and then Try these repairs as an administrator.
* Continue to follow the instructions and answer the questions and the troubleshooting should be done in no time.

3. Disable VPN

This might be another cause for the error. A VPN is a useful security feature but it can also hinder your access to the internet.

This usually occurs if the VPN has a built-in kill switch that disconnects you from the internet when the server is down. Disabling it by disconnecting its function can prove effective in solving the error.

If you try reconnecting and regain access to the internet after doing this, then the error was caused by the VPN.

Therefore, you should update your VPN client and connect to a new VPN server to avoid this error from reoccurring.

4. Ensure That All Connection Properties Are Checked
The network adapter is necessary to ensure connectivity to the internet. If the “no internet, secured” error occurs, ensure that the following connection properties are checked:

* Client for Microsoft Networks
* Reliable Multicast Protocol.
* QoS Packet Scheduler
* File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks
* Microsoft LLDP Protocol Driver
* Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
* Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
* Link-layer Topology Discovery Responder
* Link-layer Topology Discovery Mapper I/O Driver

To do this,

* Click on the Wi-Fi connection icon on the right side of your screen.
* Select Network and Internet Settings.

* Next click on Change Adapter Options and from the list select Wi-Fi

* Next, click on Network and Sharing Center and then on Change Adapter Options when it opens.
* When the list of network adapters comes up select Wi-Fi and click on Properties.
* Under Properties, you should find Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) if you scroll down.
* Uncheck the checkbox in front of it and then save changes by clicking on OK.
* Restart the computer.

7. Set A New Domain Name System (DNS) Server
The Domain Name System is a database where the domain names of internet sites are located and changed to IP addresses.

When a “no internet, secured” error occurs it is likely due to a less functional DNS server, which is hindering the internet from being accessed.

To fix this:

* Follow the first four steps above in No. 6 to locate the Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).
* Double click on Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6).
* Select Properties under it and check Use the following DNS server addresses.
* Change your DNS server by Inputting the following IP addresses:

Preferred DNS Server: 1.1.1.1
